New to Glenlake?

New to Glenlake? The Welcoming Committee would like to meet you! If you have recently moved into the area, and have not been contacted by our Welcoming Committee, please call Gillian McLean at (512) 231-8244. Note: We try to meet everyone in the neighborhood, but every once in a while someone slips in unnoticed. If we missed you, please know that we want to meet you and give Gillian a call at your earliest convenience.

Welcome Home—On behalf of the Glenlake Neighborhood Association (GNA) and its members, welcome to the neighborhood! We think you'll like living here. It's a fairly laid-back neighborhood with many wonderful natural features. It's close to Austin, yet still has a great country feel.

Children's Activities—Glenlake is a kid-friendly neighborhood with about 115 children. Every October we have a Halloween Hayride, where kids and parents travel on hay wagons around a pre-scheduled route full of friendly neighbors handing out candy. It's a great event that really captures the charm of our neighborhood. We also have GNA Picnics at least twice a year during nice weather at nearby parks such as Emma Long City Park or Ski Shores Waterfront Cafe, both on the shores of Lake Austin. These are great get-acquainted events, and a lot of fun, too.

Resident Info on the GNA Website—Below are some useful information and links to help you with the logistics of moving to a new area: utility hookups, schools, waste disposal, and such. The GNA website provides over 100 pages of online content, with Neighborhood Updates and Alerts, Meeting Minutes, Clubs, Service Providers (resident's contractor recommendations—one of our more popular pages), GNA Calendar of Events, Neighborhood Development Issues, Newsletters, Neighborhood Documents, Event and Nature Photos and much more, so please check it often for all the latest neighborhood happenings and announcements.

How to Get Connected in Glenlake

Welcoming Committee—Moving into a new neighborhood can be hectic, but the Welcoming Committee members have experience and information to help smooth your transition. At your earliest convenience, please contact Gillian McLean at (512) 231-8244 to schedule a visit or get your questions answered.

Neighborhood Directories—We update and distribute Neighborhood Directories (shared only among resident members of the GNA) once each year. Please contact info@glenlakehoa.org to be included in our listings.

Joining the GNA—Dues are $100 a year. Please visit the Signup & Benefits page for details and membership form.

Contacting the GNA—E-mail gnaboard@glenlakehoa.org. There also is a postal box for GNA that is located at 9811 Glenlake Drive (north end). This is a locked mailbox for receipt of GNA mail. Residents may place letters and due payments to the GNA in this mailbox with no postage since incoming mail is picked up by a GNA board member without processing by the postal service.

Social Clubs—Book Club, Garden Club, Cycling, Tennis. Please see the website for details of current social opportunities within the neighborhood.

We're glad you're here. Please don't hesitate to call if we can help, or just to get acquainted.

Good to Know

Advertisements

Advertisements can be annoying to look at, but the ones on this site work for you! All proceeds from click-throughs (the number of times and ad is clicked) and impressions (the number of times an ad is seen) go straight to the GNA general fund, which improves funding and could eventually lower membership dues.
